Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh , We pray this finds everyone well, wrapped in Allah’s mercy and steadfastly traveling the path to eternal felicity, in sha Allah.
The Erudite Scholar Hazrat Shaykh Muhammad Bekkali al-Hassani from Tangiers Passed Away passed away today in the early hours of the morning (Around 8.00 Am) at the age of 107 in Tangiers. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May He give him to drink from the Basin of His Prophet (alayhi salat wa salam), that he may never thirst thereafter, and may He enter him into the highest gardens of Paradise! Ameen.
The Noble Shaykh was a true Zahid, Faqih and Muhaddith , when he was young his Father Rahimahullah passed away and his mother wanted him to be educated and she was determined to keep her son on the Book of Allah Ta’ala so she sent him to study with the local scholars in the village, the late Shaykh is said to have studied with Shaykh Abdul Hay al-Kittani Rahimahullah in Fez and he benefited from him immensely.

Mashallah He was a true man of allah, We were given the honour of meeting him in tangiers two years ago in the daytime and then later on during a dalail ul khayrat Gathering. Subhanallah he did not allow any individual to kiss his hand and would go into states of anger if people even attempted it.
The shaykh told us that he studied with the Ghumari family for decades and they never told him off or showed any displeasure towards him, it was like the example of sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik with the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him

He taught me a tough lesson of not wearing a hood during a majlis, the shaykh took it off my head and said we dont wear our hoods during majalis
