Shaykh-ul-Qur’an Abu al-Haqa’iq Muhammad Abdul Ghafoor Hazarvi (rahimahullah) – May Allah give us an ounce of his knolwedge and love he had for the Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). Many people would go mast when he would deliver his speeches. You need the heart to be able to feel it. Ghazali-e-Zaman Syed Ahmad Saeed Kazmi Shah Sahib would consider himself uneducated in front of him.
Hazrat Shaykh-ul-Qur’an did bayat on the hands of Syed-us-Sadaat Pir Syed Mehr Ali Shah at the age of about 11 and asked him to pray that he becomes a Moulvi. Pir Mehr Ali Shah Sahib said to him that “jaao! eik din tum bohot barei moulvi bano gei” (moulvi was the title used for alim in those days).
Shaykh-ul-Qur’an studied from the top scholars of his time including the most erudite of scholars Moulana Muhib-un-Nabi Sahib. Shaykh-ul-Qur’an completed the Dawra Hadith from the elder son of Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, namely Hujjat-ul-Islam Hazrat Hamid Raza Khan Barelwi in Bareily Shareef. Hujjat-ul-Islam gave this blessed student of his khilafat hence why you see Qadri written on his gravestone too. SubhanAllah he had faiz from both Golra Sharif and Bareily Sharif.
As well as being one of the best speakers in India/Pakistan, he was also a great mudarris too and in the month of Ramadan Sharif especially he would teach Dowra Qur’an to advanced students over the 30 days.
Hazrat Shaykh-ul-Qur’an was also a brilliant debater and he had his gifted ability to answer and reply spontaneously.
Huzoor Shaykh-ul-Qur’an shared a close relationship with Huzoor Muhaddith-e-Azam Pakistan Moulana Sardar Ahmad Qadri, also note that both had studied under Hazrat Hamid Raza Khan Sahib.
