Moulay Idris Passes Away

Bismillah …

Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh , We pray this finds everyone well, wrapped in Allah’s mercy and steadfastly traveling the path to eternal felicity, in sha Allah.

The Erudite Scholar Hazrat Shaykh Moulay Idris has passed away. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May He give him to drink from the Basin of His Prophet (alayhi salat wa salam), that he may never thirst thereafter, and may He enter him into the highest gardens of Paradise! Ameen.

The Father of Moulay Idris Alayhi Rahma was a huge scholar from the Qarawin in Fez. He comes from the Ahlul Bayt Yaqoubi tribe of Morocco and North Africa. His father was best friends with an Ahlul Bayt shaykh from Senegal named Shaykh Abdul Aziz Sy. Their friendship caused him to migrate to senegal and the rest of west africa. So Moulay Edreece had a connection to the west Africans through that way and thats how he knew how to speak wolof, the language spoken in Senegal. He would always come visit Shaykh Salek bin Siddina and Shaykh Salek always showed him the utmost respect when he would see him. After his classes or whenever he saw him he would always greet him first and walk him to his car.

Special Thanks to Sayyidi Ahmad (Hafidhahullah) for the Biography of The Shaykh Alayhi Rahma
