In regards to the meeting between Khawaja Muhammad Aslam Naqshbandi Alayhi Rahma meets Shaykh Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi Shadhili Alayhi Rahma

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, we are writing in regards to our post on the supposed meeting between Hazrat Khawaja Muhammad Aslam Naqshbandi Alayhi Rahma and Hazrat Shaykh Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi Shadhili Alayhi Rahma.

Upon investigation, the story turned out not to be True as Hazrat Shaykh Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi Alayhi Rahma left his work as an Imam of the Umayyad Mosque in 1971 he was an instructor and was then sick, as his diaries relate. His son, Sayyidi Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi was always with him in these years and never missed a class and the meeting did not take place. However Hazrat Khawaja Muhammad Aslam Naqshbandi Alayhi Rahma may have met another Shaykh when he visited Damascus.

  1. The ornaments.- Quran
    86. And those whom they invoke besides Allah have no power of intercession;- only he who bears witness to the Truth, and they know (him).

This ayah from the quran proves that saying “ya rasool Allah” is permissible. “…Those they invoke besides Allah…” “…Only he who bears witness to the truth, and they know him” This clearly indicates the rasool salalahu alahi wasalaam has the power of intercession. So to invoke the rasool not the way we invoke Allah as that would be shirk but to invoke him by saying ya Rasool Allah is permissible. To say “ya” so and so is to invoke or to call upon. Not every awilya has this power either depending on their level of “bearing the truth” this could also apply to the awliya Allah but here it is reference to our nabi salalahu alahi wasalaam.
